How To Manually Configure Your Android Phone and Tablet For Glo APNs – { Access Point Name settings }
Some Android phones and Tablets do not permit the “PUSH SETTINGS” from networks carrier, therefore, making browsing dificult for the Users.
However, without taking you far, I have derived a workable and easy to know configuration setting for Glo sim users.
This is what I am using now, and it works for me.
Firstly, I donnot want to take you to a long process of doing this, I will summarise it here to make things easy for you.
Follow the process below:
Glo configuration settings.
NAME: GLO NG
APN: glodroid
APN type: select all
Username: android
Password: android
Authentication type: PAP or CHAP
Secondly, now this is how to go about it; Switch on and open your smart phone.
Go to “SETTINGS”, under “WIRELESS AND NETWORKS” click “MORE”, then click on ‘Mobile Networks’, click “Access Point Names”. Chose Glo Mobile. Then, click on Menu icon at the Top right corner of your phone, or at the left bottom- depending on phone or Tablet brand. The icon is indicated with this symbol [≡].
When the menu open, chose “NEW APN”. Configuration setting form will open, do the following:
click on Name’ and type in GLO NG ,
click ‘APN’ and input ‘glodroid’.
Click ‘APN types’ and select all types you see by ticking them all.
Click ‘Username’ and input “android”.
Click ‘Password’ and input “android”.
Click ‘Authentication type:’ and chose “PAP or CHAP”.
Then, click menu again and select “SAVE”.
Now you have finished the configuration process, it will appear on screen like this:
Choose it by clicking on it for the small indicator to alight.
Congratulation! You are now ready to surf the web as you want.
NOTE: Make sure that you have Data Bundle on your Glo line {Glo Sim card} and allow data access or DATA CONNECTION in your phone. If you need help, just comment on this post.
